OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Community Development Fund (CDF) Senior Civil Engineer on a Fixed-term employment who will be responsible for the designs, estimates and scheduling, tender document preparations, supervision, and general documentation of various projects under the Community Development Fund of the External Affairs and Communications Department. The role will report to the Superintendent – External Affairs and Social Performance.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead the CDF engineering team ensuring that all team goals and priorities are clearly communicated for efficient planning and smooth implementation of projects
- Work with the External Affairs and Communications Manager and Superintendent in project planning to ensure projects are aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization
- Lead the preparation, planning and implementation of CDF infrastructure projects aligned with Company values, standards and processes
- Facilitates timely generation of reports for CDF projects.
- Assist the External Affairs and Communications Superintendent in the project development and management of project contracts to ensure quality execution and achieving completion on time, within budget, and zero lost time incidents
- Lead the team in the organization and preparations of all necessary documents, technical or non-technical, needed prior to, during, and after the implementation of CDF projects and provides quality supervision to adhere and ensures all standards are met
- Keeps track records of all projects under development maintaining an up-to-date database for the CDF control systems
- Develop contingency plans for the CD projects to ensure seamless execution and properly manage risks involved in achieving annual targets
- Establish systems for engineering activities to have appropriate checks and balances in place to ensure compliance, accuracy, and process and put in place appropriate communication tools to mitigate the risk of miscommunication, re-work, and loss
- Ensures OGPI contractor management procedures are implored and implemented
- Assist in the formulation and reviews of the document control system to ensure that applicability and effectiveness is achieved and that the quality is aligned with the OGC’s document control standards
- Work with the External Affairs and Communications Manager and Superintendent to develops strategies for meaningful engagement with stakeholders
- Liaises and communicates with government and non-government agencies for matters related to infrastructure project execution, access road maintenance, management, and supervision
