Solution Implementation Engineer

Role Purpose:

  • To ensure software solutions implemented to successfully meet customer business requirements and internal FBAU standards.

Key Challenges:

  • Working with virtual teams to support the delivery of a solution and the creation of relevant documentation.
  • Taking ownership for BAU and customer requirements in terms of governance, documentation, and technical integrity of services delivered.
  • Delivering high quality solutions in a timely manner whilst maintaining effective communication channels to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Software Solution Implementation

  • The customer’s core business applications and IT infrastructure is adequately understood to ensure successful implementation of BAU software solutions.
  • Software solutions are successfully implemented as outlined in Solution Design Documentation
  • Ownership is maintained during implementation activities, all issues and challenges are managed and clearly documented to ensure a successful and agreed outcome.
  • Stakeholders are kept up to date on project status with any risks and issues highlighted and escalated as appropriate.

Customer Experience

  • Customers view BAU, and specifically Professional Services, as a “trusted advisor”.
  • Customer engagements are managed through adherence to BAU systems and processes.
  • All escalated customer situations are resolved to the satisfaction of key stakeholders
  • Customer expectations are effectively managed; appropriate actions are identified and completed.

Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Internal and external stakeholder relationships are developed and maintained.
  • All documentation and reporting is accurately completed and non-compliance is reported back to relevant stakeholders.
  • Activity planning and forecasting is tracked and maintained within BAU systems.

Knowledge Management and Capability Development

  • Culture of knowledge sharing is actively championed. Culture of knowledge gain is driven through continuous professional skills development and knowledge exchange.
  • Technical and industry expertise is maintained and up to date to competently deliver business solutions for BAU customers.

Personal Leadership & Engagement

  • Communication across division and broader organisation builds understanding, alignment and engagement.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in virtual teams effectively and collaboratively to deliver project deliverables and outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant industry verticals (e.g. Government, Corporate, Education, Finance, Health Care) – drivers, trends, emerging best practice and challenges
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge in print technologies, operating systems, network protocols, switches, client/server architecture, applications, databases, file formats, programming languages and all layers of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model
  • Demonstrate a professional approach and framework to utilise industry standard network and application troubleshooting tools and utilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot systems and application related technical issues to provide timely resolution and restoration of services.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and coordinate own work activities to meet commitments and quality expectations.
  • Takes ownership in building and applying professional and technical skills and capabilities.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years IT project service delivery experience
  • Proven experience in documenting technical requirements for delivery
  • Proven experience with working in a virtual team, achieving deliverables on time and as per plan
  • Previous experience with print management applications is desirable
  • Network, Server, Database and SQL technologies experience
  • Scripting knowledge is desirable
  • Managed print industry knowledge is desirable

 

Education/Academic Qualifications

  • Tertiary and/or relevant qualifications in Computer Science/Information Systems
  • Industry accredited certifications (MCP/MCSE or similar) is desirable.
  • Professional certification in project management is desirable.
