Job Title: Podcast Video Editor
Salary Range: $900 - $1200 per month (DOE)
Working hours: Flexible; total of 40 hours/5 days a week; Overlapping two hours between 3-5 PM PST
We are on the lookout for a skilled Podcast Video and Audio Editor with a passion for gaming to enhance our content creation efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for publishing high-quality long-form audio and YouTube episodes, every week. You will also work closely with our content marketer and creative director to maintain a consistent brand and voice across our channels.
Occasionally, you will also be asked to help with tutorial-based videos of our games, to be published on our game sites.
- Edit and enhance audio content for clarity and quality.
- Edit video content, ensuring a seamless and engaging visual experience.
- Sync audio and video components to create a cohesive final product.
- Incorporate music, sound effects, and other elements to enhance overall production.
- Collaborate with the content team to understand the creative vision and objectives.
- Ensure consistency in branding and style across podcast episodes.
- Troubleshoot and address technical issues related to audio and video editing.
- Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality, polished podcast episodes.

- Enhance Gaming Audio:
- Edit and optimize audio content to highlight key discussions, interviews, and insights related to the gaming industry.
- Creative Sound Design:
- Implement creative sound design elements to capture the essence of gaming experiences, including music, sound effects, and immersive audio.
- Seamless Episode Flow:
- Edit podcast episodes to ensure a smooth and engaging flow, maintaining a captivating listener experience throughout.
- Sync Audio and Game Footage:
- Sync audio commentary seamlessly with game footage or relevant visuals to create engaging video podcasts.
- Content Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the gaming content team to align editing with the studio's creative vision, storytelling, and branding.
- Gaming Theme Consistency:
- Ensure consistency in gaming themes, graphics, and styles across podcast episodes to reinforce the studio's brand.
- Technical Troubleshooting:
- Address and troubleshoot technical issues related to audio and video editing, ensuring the highest quality output.
- Meeting Deadlines:
- Meet deadlines consistently to ensure timely release of podcast episodes, aligning with the studio's content calendar.
- Stay Updated on Gaming Trends:
- Stay informed about the latest gaming trends, releases, and industry developments to enhance the relevance of podcast content.
- Effective Communication:
- Communicate effectively with the gaming content team to understand requirements, provide updates, and incorporate feedback.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of proven experience as a video editor, with a focus on long-form interview podcast content
- Preferably with experience in the Web-based game industry.
- In-depth understanding and appreciation of gaming culture, industry trends, and popular gaming titles.
- Familiarity with logic and puzzle-based casual games like Sudoku, Crossword, Wordle, and more to edit content related to our games.
Audio Editing Tools:
- Proficient with Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar software
Video Editing Tools:
- Required: Adobe Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve expertise
- Preferred: Proficient in After Effects, and Frame.io for feedback
- Video screen capture tools like Camtasia, Screenflow, or Screen.Studio
- Familiar with video editing tools for YT Shorts or TikTok content using the above or Descript and CapCut.
Collaboration Tools:
- Efficient use of communication and collaboration tools like Discord, Google Sheets, Notion, or Trello for seamless project management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Showcase a portfolio highlighting previous work on gaming-related podcast episodes or similar, demonstrating proficiency in storytelling and creative editing.
Publishing tools:
- Use Transistor.FM to publish the podcast, and YouTube Studio to publish the video versions
- Comfortable with using AI tools like Podium or ChatGPT to help speed up the creation of show notes, transcriptions, and titles as needed.
