Your Role
This Security Engineering position is focused on endpoint and server security, with the objective of supporting the assessment, review, and maintenance of system security configurations. This will include making recommendations on system hardening, testing changes in the environment to understand impact, and the ability to provide a risk based analysis of any concerns.
The engineer will consult with internal teams on the security of Windows, Mac, and Linux systems within the environment. Leveraging standards such as CIS to review and harden system settings.
The ideal candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of the team to ensure our systems and configurations are secure and align to industry best practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security changes for endpoints and servers
- Review new features, test, and deploy them through standard change control processes
- Support endpoint security platforms such as EDR, host-based firewall rules, etc.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot reported issues with endpoint security tools
- Analyze system logs and query logs via SIEM products
- Work with vendor support to resolve issues
- Run baseline analysis tools and provide recommendations for testing and implementing system hardening enhancements
- Automate tasks where possible to optimize workflows
- Consult with other internal teams regarding security requirements, concerns, and issues
- Report on projects and represent status updates through existing project management tools
- Document controls, configurations, or considerations for later reference
- Support the implementation of least privilege and zero trust access controls
- Be a security advocate across the enterprise
Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience in Security or security related fields
- 4+ years’ experience with endpoint security and other various network, endpoint, or cloud security tools
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP protocols
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Awareness of cybersecurity trends, issues, and hacking techniques
- Scripting and automation skills are a plus
- Ability to work after hours, if needed
