OceanaGold is seeking a suitable qualified and motivated Superintendent - Maintenance (Engineering) to provide leadership and strategic direction to the engineering team in the Asset Maintenance Department (AMD) at Didipio, Kasibu, Philippines. This position involves overseeing engineering systems, ensuring the efficient application of engineering principles, and continuous improvement of processing plant and underground mining processes.
Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Manager, the position is responsible for ensuring that all AMD Engineering personnel work safely, responsibly, and efficiently to maintain all equipment operational above the targeted availability.
This includes maintaining a Zero-Injury workplace environment, implementation and supervision of systems, and settings team objectives that are aligned with Oceanagold's Values and Vision.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Manages and monitors professional development of the Engineering team members resulting in successful delivery of targets, management of stakeholder’s expectations and safe executions of all activities.
- Leads the yearly planning of Opex and Capex Budgets and with the monthly monitoring and review of actual cost expenses.
- Formulates, reviews, and implements systems within budget ensuring timely and quality completion of Maintenance Engineering services that are aligned with OceanaGold's Values and Vision.
- Implement engineering best practices, through improvements projects that will directly improve the equipment performance and reduce operating costs.
- Enhances current engineering design and conducts thorough analysis considering multiple areas of application and viability
- Compares the pros and cons of alternative design options and develops an optimized design alternative based on risk, reliability, and/or uncertainty analysis
- Gathers and analyzes information to enable the cost-effective allocation of resources that are available for maintenance to provide the highest levels of safety and reliability of engineered systems and works.
- Calculates the probability or frequency of occurrence and resulting impact of risk in the design of an engineered component, system, or process
- Manages contractor’s performance by ensuring alignment with OGPI’s Values and Safety Cultures.
- Thoroughly analyzes data collected and recommends actions plans to ensure timely, cost efficient, and high-quality output produced by contractors.
- Promptly communicates with contractors to resolve complex issues that hinder the completion of the project.
- Leads the team towards active involvement to the Safety Culture Behavior Program of OceanaGold.
- Promotes and initiates action to achieve goals beyond what is required and creates opportunities for new innovative ideas from team members conscious of both cost and safety.
