Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor-Health and Safety to continually improve health and safety culture and performance across OGPI and its Contractors by building, monitoring, and supporting Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), Health and Safety Programs, and Emergency Preparedness and Responses to protect our workmates from work-related injuries, ill-health, occupational stressors, and fatalities. The role will report to the Superintendent-Health and Safety.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Monitor workplace hazards, such as physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, psychosocial, and other types of hazards
- Conduct job hazard analysis or risk assessments utilizing appropriate methodologies to determine effective controls in mitigating the risk
- Utilize a systematic and unbiased approach in workplace incident and accident investigations, encompassing prompt response, data collection, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Examine and define potential factors that may impede project task completion, delivery of contractual work products, or the attainment of departmental and organizational objectives
- Clearly communicates the implications of identified risks and provides recommendations for corrective measures
